Bacon, Jalapeno Dove Wraps!

It’s dove season here for most of Texas. With that being said, I had a craving for some dove wraps. Here is my special recipe. Enjoy!! Bacon, Jalapeno Dove Wraps: Ingredients

  • Dove breasts, deboned – 1 dove = 2 wraps

  • Bacon – one piece per wrap

  • Jalapenos ( I prefer the canned ones – sliced)

  • Cream Cheese – one block

  • Half an onion

  • Brown Sugar – 1/2 – 3/4 cup

  • 1/2 tsp Paprika

  • 1/4 – 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper (how spicy do you want it?)

  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper

  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder

  • 1 Cup Milk

*** Don’t forget your toothpicks

  1. Crack open a beer

  2. Once you cut the breast off the bone, soak in milk with garlic powder for about 1 hour in refrigerator

  3. In small bowl – Mix brown sugar, paprika, cayenne pepper, and black pepper

  4. Cut onion into about one inch piece squares ( I slice the onion into quaters) 1 square per wrap

  5. Cut cream cheese into sqaures – 1 piece per wrap

  6. Set up your table with the jalapenos, cream cheese, onion, toothpicks and brown sugar and get drain the milk from the dove breasts.

  7. Use about 1/4 of the brown sugar mixture and sprinkle on the dove breasts in a bowl

  8. Start with your toothpick: Add Onion, Breast, Cream Cheese, Jalapeno and Wrap bacon around the entire thing

  9. Roll the wrap into the brown sugar bowl

  10. Grill on indirect heat at about 400 F until bacon is nice and brown
